Sexuality and Gender :: Bisexual

Bisexuality is used to refer to people who experience the desire for emotional, sensual and/or sexual relations with people of both sexes, though not necessarily to an equal extent or at the same time. It is also important to remember that just because someone chooses to experiment with both sexes, it does not necessarily mean that they themselves will identify as bisexual.

Many people see bisexuals as having 'the best of both worlds', however they may face a lot of discrimination from both straight and gay communities making them feel even more alienated. People often believe that bisexuals are selfish, promiscuous and over-sexed amd some even argue that there is no such thing as bisexuality, rather it is just a period of experimentation. Within the gay community it is often argued that bisexuals are just clinging on the legitimacy of a straight relationship whilst being able to experiment with members of the same sex.
